Presentation
A course on business English derived from the contents of The Money Programme, the most popular and highly acclaimed business programme on British television.

Teaching objectives
To allow students, to accede to business English through the medium of oral communication. To teach the basics of business language as practised by professional users, through practical reports and case studies. To improve listening comprehension and stimulate discussion.

Format
1 meeting weekly of 3 hours during 7 weeks.

Course content
Highlights from recent selected programmes will be studied in class, offering a range of significant business topics and case studies. Topicality will be emphasized. Worksheets on the programmes studied will be circulated.

Teaching methods
Listening comprehension work on the programmes studied. Discussion of topics, collectively and in groups. Various written exercises: memo and letter writing; essays on the programmes studied.

Individual work
Study of worksheets. Drafting of written exercises.

Evaluation
Participation in class will be a key criterion, together with the assessment of written work.

Recommended level
This course is designed for students with an advanced level in English who are motivated by business topics.
