Presentation
Whether you are communicating at school, at work, or in the community, listening is used nearly twice as much as speaking, which in turn is used twice as much as reading and writing. This course aims to improve your listening and speaking skills through activities tailored to your needs and interests.

Teaching objectives
To speak with more fluency and to become comfortable about expressing your ideas in English. To improve pronunciation and comprehension. To build vocabulary.

Format
One meeting weekly of 3 hours during 7 weeks.

Course content and Teaching methods
Speaking : a wide variety of activities, such as dialogues, role playing, discussions, short presentations, in-context situations. Listening : authentic audio and video material, with exercises to develop top-down (meaning/interpretation of the message) and bottom-up (sounds to words) skills. Pronunciation : individual evaluation, pronunciation practice inside and outside the classroom.

Individual work
Preparation of activities for use in the classroom. Regular pronunciation practice in the language resource center.

Evaluation
Based on participation inside and outside the classroom.

Recommended level
This course is designed for students who need to practice their communication skills.
