Presentation
This course gives students training and practice in the listening and reading comprehension of English, with an emphasis on grammatical mastery and lexical precision, as needed for enhancing English skills and for improving scores on standardized exams such as the TOEIC.

Teaching Objectives
1. To improve the grammatical and lexical accuracy of student's English. 2. To provide ample practice in the taking of English tests such as the TOEIC, TOEFL, etc. 3. To develop general and business communicative competence and confidence.

Format One
weekly meeting of 3 hours. Maximum number of students 25

Course Content
The lessons will concentrate on the content and structures of English with subcomponents dealing with grammar, vocabulary, text grammar, functions, notions and other elements of English.

Teaching Methods
Students will be given a diagnostic pre-test, to be followed by several weeks of intensive training and practice. Most of this training will consist of listening and reading tests. Students will also work outside of class, retaking tests until mastery is achieved. Students are also-as homework--expected to watch movies, listen to English and so on. Students will do self-diagnoses, keep track of their progress, analyse their weaknesses, and develop a personal game plan to succeed on the TOEIC exam.

Individual and Group Work
Focus is on individual work both inside and outside the class.

Evaluation
The final grade is based on completion of the work, and a series of TOEIC tests..

Recommended Level
For students who have less than 800 on the TOEIC.
